Sites in the programmes
12

You bring groups to Krakow and Oświęcim and you are looking for a day that the standard offer of the region does not have. We show the subcamps of KL Auschwitz and sites that are closed to the public, access to which we arrange individually with the people who look after them. This is not a variant of visiting the State Museum, nor a shortened version of it. It is a separate day, away from the route that most visitors take.

What your group gets

Sites off the main route

The Judenrampe with its historic wagon, the food warehouses, the sauerkraut plant, the Bor and Budy women's subcamp, the SS canteen with a freight wagon, the exhibition on Monowitz, the Remembrance Museum, the house of Rudolf Hoss. In the industrial version also the mine at Jawiszowice and the grounds of one of the largest subcamps in the system.

One guide for the whole day

The programme is led by one person from the first stop to the last, in the language of the group: Polish, English, Spanish or Portuguese. We do not hand the group over between guides and we do not use audio guides, except at the Remembrance Museum, which requires them.

Content from our own field documentation

The visit outlines are entirely our own work, based on archival sources, on the knowledge of the people who care for the sites and on our own field documentation, carried out since 2019. The register of the forty five subcamps is published openly on this site.

Three lengths

From three and a half to five hours, depending on the version. That is the length of the whole programme on site: visiting, travel between the sites, parking and walking to each of them. Travel from Krakow is counted separately. The programme can be shortened or extended to fit your schedule.

How to fit it into your day

The programme works as a day of its own and as a complement to a visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. We neither book nor sell entry to the Museum; you or your client arrange that part, and we fit in with your timings.

It works best with groups that already have Auschwitz I and Birkenau behind them, on the same day or the day before. A group that has seen the main route understands at once what it is looking at with us, and asks more questions. A group that comes to us first needs a longer introduction, and the programme then runs a little longer. We do both, but it is worth knowing when you plan the day.

Collecting the group

We collect the group from the hotel in Krakow, or we start on the spot in Oświęcim if the group is already in the area. We can also put a guide on your coach and run the programme in your own vehicle.

Transport along the route

The sites are several to a dozen kilometres apart, so the programme is not feasible on foot. We can provide the transport or run the programme in the group's own vehicle. The times we give are the length of the whole programme on the ground: the visiting, travel, parking, the walk to each site and breaks.

Group size

Up to fifty people per guide. The work goes best with a group of around thirty. Larger groups are split into two sets and the day is arranged so that they do not meet inside the same buildings.

Access to the sites

Some of the sites on the route are not open to the public. Every entry is arranged with the person who looks after the place, which is why we confirm the date only after that arrangement. Two weeks is usually enough; at shorter notice it is still worth asking.

Commercial terms

Net rates

We quote tour operators net rates that leave room for your margin. For regular cooperation we agree terms individually, depending on the number of groups in the season. The price depends on the starting point, the number of participants, the version of the programme and whether we provide the transport.

Invoicing and payment

We invoice in zloty or in euro, to the company, with deferred payment terms. Regular partners settle after the programme, with no deposit. For a first booking we ask for a deposit of 30% of the order value.

Changes and cancellation

The date can be moved once, free of charge, no later than seven days before the programme, and the deposit paid carries over to the new date. Cancellation earlier than fourteen days before the date: we refund the whole deposit. Between fourteen and seven days before: we keep 10% of the order value. Later than seven days before: we keep 20%. Please confirm the final number of participants three working days before the date; the difference is settled on the final invoice.

Material for your own offer

On request we provide programme descriptions and photographs of the sites for use in your sales material, in Polish and in the languages in which we run the programmes.

What we need in order to quote

The number of participants, the date or an approximate date, the language of the programme, the starting point, the version of the programme and whether the group is also visiting the State Museum on the same day. On that basis we send a price for the whole within one working day: the guide, entry to the sites, transport and the workshop if it is to be part of the day.

Enquiry about terms for an operator

We send back net rates, a proposed shape for the day and confirmation that the sites are available, within one working day. If you are planning more than one group in the season, say so straight away, because then we set the terms differently.
