Forestry

What happened here

The forestry detachment at Miedzyrzecze probably operated from October 1942 to April 1943 and numbered between twenty and a hundred prisoners. All of these figures remain estimates.

The employer was, as in the other forestry detachments of the region, the forestry board at Pszczyna.

What is left

The state of preservation is unknown. It has not been possible to establish the exact location of the camp.

As far as is known, the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum has not carried out a site inspection here. We publish this record in spite of the gaps, because leaving Miedzyrzecze out would mean erasing it from the register.
