What happened here

In September 1944 five hundred and five prisoners were assigned to the 2nd SS Construction Train. The strength was kept at about five hundred people.

They worked clearing rubble and repairing railway lines in Karlsruhe and Stuttgart, after the Allied raids. In April 1945 the train was split into two parts.

What is left

There are no physical remains of this subcamp and there cannot be, because the camp was a railway train and the workplace was a set of bombed cities.

No commemoration is known. We include this record in the register because 2 SS Bauzug was formally a subcamp of Auschwitz and held as many people as many a camp with walls.
