Power station

What happened here

From September 1944 about five hundred men built a thermal power station. On 17 January 1945 there were four hundred and eighty six of them.

Althammer operated for less than five months, until the evacuation of January 1945.

What is left

Driving from Halemba towards Stara Kuznica along ul. Skargi, part of a ruined Einmannbunker air raid shelter can be seen, a concrete cylinder for one person.

Halfway along the path that crosses the grounds of the former camp, on the right hand side, the foundations of the building known as the new kitchen survive.
