What happened here

On 17 January 1945 seven hundred and forty men were held here, and on 30 December 1944 three hundred and seventy one women. The women worked on the production of carbon black.

The men were employed on machine repairs and on the expansion of the works and the coking plant. There were three separate firms as employers.

What is left

On ul. Pszczynska in Gliwice two long barracks from the time of the subcamp survive, today in the hands of a private company and rebuilt.

The monument to the subcamp stands about two hundred metres from its actual grounds, at the junction of ul. Pszczynska and ul. Pocztowa. It was raised in 1979.
