Ironworks

What happened here

From August 1944 about four hundred and fifty women and seventy men worked here. On 30 December 1944 four hundred and sixty nine women prisoners were recorded, and on 17 January 1945 seventy men.

Lorries for transporting armaments were produced at the Donnersmarck ironworks; some of the prisoners were sent to the Concordia mine.

What is left

The camp stood along ul. Hagera in Zabrze, in the area of ul. Kasprowicza. On its left hand side there are allotment gardens today.

Neither on the grounds of the former ironworks and the Concordia mine nor on the site of the camp itself is there any commemoration.
