What happened here

From April 1942, with a break for the autumn and winter of 1942/1943, between two and four hundred men working on the SS farm were held at Budy. On 17 January 1945 there were three hundred and thirteen of them.

Administratively Budy formed one subcamp together with the women's camp and the penal company, under a single Lagerführer.

What is left

A single storey brick building of the former primary school survives, today Public Nursery School no. 2. During the war it housed the offices of the penal company.

The site lies in the commune of Brzeszcze, on road 933 from Oświęcim, beyond Rajsko.

This is one of the few places in the register that can be visited today; we show it in our educational programmes as the Bor / Budy women's subcamp with its exhibition. See the programmes →
